Easy Evening: Friday night, I like to have dinner with friends; a simple dinner party at home is best. After the advent of the nightclub, it’s nice having people over for good conversation and dinner.

Hard Morning: I’ve gotten into a really active weekend. It’s a workout, but also fun and social. I’ll wake up and go play with the dogs, then go to the stairs in Santa Monica, near 7th Street and San Vicente [Boulevard]. It’s a great workout. Then I’ll run on the beach or roller-blade from Malibu to Venice and back up again. And then I’ll have something to eat or drink at a patio restaurant on the beach.

No Day of Rest: Sunday, it’s a spinning class or running on the track at UCLA. Or I might go hiking up at Tree People on Coldwater Canyon. For me, the weekend is about moving and being outside.

Sitting Still?: I’m a partner in Coffeehouse on Sunset Boulevard in West Hollywood. So I’ll go there and read a book. I’m not good enough yet to join in the backgammon games that go on.

Raison D’Eat-re: I work out to support my eating habit. I love good food. L’Orangerie is the best restaurant in L.A. It has really rich food and is really beautiful. I also like Sushi Roku, on 3rd [Street] and La Cienega [Boulevard]. And Lucques, on Melrose [Avenue], I also highly recommend. They have amazing steak and a great selection of wines.

Get Some Dim Sum: And I like going downtown to Chinatown to Empress Pavilion for dim sum. Be ready for a big wait--45 minutes on a Saturday or Sunday morning. They have all these carts of food and wheel them around so you can pick what you want. It’s fantastic.

Poking Around: I like the Sunset Plaza area for shopping because there are some really fine boutiques. I got a really amazing vintage costume jewelry piece there not long ago. And I also like the Larchmont area because it’s small and homey and cool.
