YORBA LINDA
James O. Fleming, superintendent of the Placentia-Yorba Linda Unified School District for the past 13 years, announced Wednesday that he intends to retire June 30.
School board President Craig Olson said the district will hire a consultant to conduct a broad-based search for a new superintendent. He said the board hopes to interview candidates in early spring and make a final selection in July.
Fleming said he will stay in his position until the board finds a replacement. He plans to teach part time at the university level after he retires.
