After a few more tweaks here and there, the city’s pamphlet on the proposed El Toro airport should be appearing soon in local mailboxes.

City officials said they wanted residents and future home buyers to be given full disclosure about the county’s plan to build an international airport at the former Marine Corps air station, said Mayor Christina L. Shea. The city has pledged to oppose an airport with millions of dollars and an aggressive campaign.

Council members said Tuesday they may consider distributing the brochure to a wider audience, including Irvine schools, libraries and the Board of Realtors. The Irvine Chamber of Commerce has already requested the pamphlet to hand out to businesses and residents interested in moving to Irvine.
