* SAN DIEGO (9-4) at LOYOLA MARYMOUNT (2-11), 7, KXLU-FM (88.9)--The teams split the regular-season series last year, and both teams won on the road. This is only the second time San Diego and Loyola Marymount have opened West Coast Conference play against each other. The Toreros, winners in five of their last six, are led by sophomore guard Andre Laws, whose 13.7-point scoring average is fourth highest in the conference. Senior guard Rupert McClendon, the Lions’ leading scorer (11.2), has been slowed because of an ankle injury.
