ROSSMOOR
Rossmoor Community Services District Director Jim Alexander has resigned from the board effective last Thursday, after nearly eight years of service.
The district serves Rossmoor, an unincorporated community of about 3,600 residents, as a policy-setting board of five elected members.
Alexander cited differences with the board of directors over financial concerns and said the “straw that broke the camel’s back” was last week’s meeting when Dawn Coleman-Hyman, who has been on the board for several months, was elected president.
General Manager Ray Griest said a new director will be nominated or elected. If the board fails to appoint someone within 60 days, the county can make the appointment within another 30 days. If neither takes action, a special election will be held in November.
