Scott Walker scored his 100th NHL point on a sixth-attacker goal with 21 seconds left in regulation as the Nashville Predators tied Phoenix, 4-4, Tuesday night at Nashville.

It was only his fifth goal after scoring a career-high 15 last season.

“Whenever the game’s on the line, Scott’s not a natural goal-scorer, but he scores by effort,” Nashville center Cliff Ronning said. “He worked and dug that puck out of the goalie’s pads to score the goal. It was huge.”

Nashville, trailing 3-0, scored twice in a 24-second span of the second period to get within one, then scored twice in the final 5:26 of the third period to get even.

New York Rangers 3, Carolina 2--Valeri Kamensky, limited because of injuries to only 21 games this season, scored for the third consecutive game and had two assists for the Rangers at New York.

The Rangers have won five of six.

Calgary 6, Detroit 1--Marc Savard scored two second-period goals and Valeri Bure added his team-high 22nd as the Flames routed the Red Wings at Calgary.

Detroit is 0-3-1 in its last four games.

“Instead of playing hard hockey, we’re looking for the easy games, trying to win the games on skill and not generating any attack,” Detroit’s Steve Yzerman said.
