Young Tennis Players Make a Tasty Appetizer
“Women’s tennis is eating another of its young.” That statement, written by Bill Dwyre [Jan. 20], should be amended to add the L.A. Times as a participating jackal in the devouring of tennis’ offspring.
Mr. Dwyre ponders, “Is the media overdoing it . . . pandering to this ever-present titillation?” I believe he has it. By devoting three-fourths of his available print space to recapping every incident involving a teenage tennis player over the last 10 years, and two small columns relating what actually happened at the Australian Open that day, he has answered his own question.
