Gun Laws

Re “Cars: Potentially Dangerous, Registration Required; And Guns?” Jan.16.

[Assemblyman] Jack Scott states in his article, “Cars are a potentially dangerous instrument, so we register all cars and require drivers to be licensed.”

It seems to me that he has our rights and privileges mixed up.

Last time I checked, gun ownership was a right guaranteed by the Constitution and driving a car was a privilege granted by states.

Unfortunately there are legislators like him who are constantly chipping away at those rights and trying to make them more like privileges.

California legislators and judges have taken it upon themselves to rewrite the Constitution for California, and in doing so have created some of the most confusing gun laws ever imagined.

Why don’t these politicians stop introducing poor laws just to get their names in the paper and start trying to do something about some of the existing laws that we’ve had all along? Is it because it’s too hard to do the right thing or because they don’t know how?

Best of all, instead of trying to lead the nation in esoteric gun laws, why don’t we take a look at one of 30-plus other states that have granted citizens the right to concealed carry of firearms, until they (politicians) can figure out how to protect us?
