FULLERTON
The City Council unanimously approved a new fountain design for the Downtown Fullerton Plaza.
The pop jet fountain will feature water spouting from pipes installed at ground level. City officials say this model is more interactive and will draw more people to the new plaza.
A fountain was considered during the early stages of plaza redevelopment next to the Fullerton Museum Center, but it was abandoned because costs were too high.
Council members considered a new design after seeing a similar fountain in San Jose during a conference last year.
