Farnham Tries to Find the Silver Lining

Share

Sean Farnham, a one-time starter at power forward, has disappeared from the rotation at a time the Bruins could use his hustle and emotion.

Farnham, a senior and Pauley Pavilion favorite, has not played double-digit minutes since Dec. 11 against Gonzaga. In 12 games since, Farnham has only four appearances and a total of 16 minutes.

“Obviously my time is limited here,” he said. “My season and my career are coming to an end. With each game that goes past, that’s one less chance. I’m aware of that. But I’ve got to keep battling and stay into it mentally. I have to stay in it emotionally because if I don’t, then I’m not going to help anybody. I’ll be ready when I’m called upon.”

The defensive job by Ray Young on Arizona State’s Eddie House, the leading scorer in the Pac-10, was all the more impressive because Young was playing with a strained shoulder.

“He runs and runs and runs,” Young said of House. “I kept having to lower my shoulder. Every time I bumped it, it was like, ‘I wish he would slow down.’ But I got through it.”
