Molina Gives $120,000 to School Damaged in Fire
Los Angeles County Supervisor Gloria Molina has contributed $120,000 from her office’s discretionary funds for the reconstruction of a preschool damaged in a fire last week.
The Gloria Montejano School, which provides day care for 72 children of low-income families, has been temporarily closed until it can be repaired.
The parents of many of the preschool pupils are “single mothers trying to support their children,” Molina said. “We want to help rebuild this center to give back to the community what they lost.”
The blaze, which destroyed two classrooms, is being investigated as an arson fire, authorities said.
