Sandy Moseley suffered a broken pelvis, head wounds, internal bleeding and contusions and was listed in critical condition at Ventura County Medical Center, the California Highway Patrol reported.

According to authorities, Patricia Figueroa, 33, of Oxnard, was trying to park her van on Grand Avenue when she allegedly struck Moseley’s parked car.

Moseley saw her vehicle being hit and ran to Figueroa’s van and grabbed onto the right side of it, authorities said. Moseley was thrown from the van onto asphalt when Figueroa allegedly accelerated.

Authorities said Figueroa fled the scene but returned 10 minutes later. She was interviewed by officers and allowed to leave, authorities said. They said the investigation is continuing.
