Man Robs Bank, Then Flees on Foot

A man who said he had a gun robbed a bank in Oxnard on Friday afternoon, Oxnard police said.

After entering Bank of America at 2475 Saviers Road, the man approached the counter and handed the teller a note, which demanded money and stated he had a gun, authorities said. The robber placed the money in a bag and left.

Once he was outside, a dye pack inside the money bag exploded. The man discarded the stained bag and fled on foot with the money, authorities said.

He was described as 25 to 47 years old, 5 feet, 9 inches tall, with a thin build and short, dirty-blond hair.

He was last seen wearing a brown or beige beanie, dark sunglasses and a red or brown flannel jacket. Anyone with additional information is urged to call the Oxnard Police Department or the FBI.
