Waves Beat Seals on Boyce’s Goal

Jason Boyce scored his eighth goal of the season as the Waves defeated the Bay Area Seals, 1-0, in A-League soccer Friday at Santa Ana Stadium.

Boyce, who is tied for the league’s scoring lead with 24 points (eight goals, eight assists), scored with one minute remaining in the first half off an assist from Steve Patterson.

The Waves (9-8-1) moved into sole possession of second place, ahead of idle Seattle (7-5-3) and El Paso (8-6-1). San Diego (9-5-1) is in first place. The Waves next play at Minnesota on Friday.
