L.A. Pay Raises

Re “Supervisors, City Council in Line for 12.5% Raises,” July 4:

Linking the pay of City Council members, other elected officials and county supervisors to what judges make is absurd. If they want to get what judges make, they should become judges. As city employees are often told when they compare what they make with other agencies, “If city employees want to make what they make at DWP, they should work for DWP.”

To help us know which officials are taking the raise, why not list who’s eligible, what they now make and how much they would make with the raise? It would be interesting to know if those who refuse the raise would still have it included in their pension base.
