Making Memories One Newspaper Page at a Time

I would like to thank the Los Angeles Times for providing the “Kids Reading Room” page. Each morning my granddaughter, Emily, age 6, and I have breakfast and read that page together. She is just beginning to learn to read. So the way we work the “reading” is I point to the words and Emily reads as many as she knows or can sound out and I read the others. Emily especially enjoys reading the jokes and how other children are spending their vacation time.

Our mornings reading The Times together is one of the memories I, and she, will be able to share for the rest of our lives.
