Man Killed in ‘Suspicious’ Fire Ruled Victim of Homicide
LA HABRA HEIGHTS —
A man whose body was found in what Los Angeles sheriff’s detectives called a “suspicious” fire one week ago was the victim of a homicide, authorities said Tuesday.
The body of Nicolas Kallins, 38, was discovered after the predawn fire July 11 at his home in the 1500 block of Le Flore Drive, said Deputy Margarita Velazquez of the Sheriff’s Headquarters Unit. Kallins’ body was found in his bedroom by Los Angeles County firefighters after extinguishing the blaze, Velazquez said.
The cause of the fire and the cause of death were not disclosed.
