A draft of the official California Voter Information Guide for the November election has been posted on the Internet, according to Secretary of State Bill Jones. It is a first time the draft has been posted online.

There, visitors will find general information, such as background on the eight propositions that have qualified for the ballot so far. The site offers a brief summary of each proposition, arguments for and against, and contact information.

“Now, anyone can examine an early draft of the Voter Information Guide online without the hassle and inconvenience of traveling to one of my offices,” Jones said.

In the past, interested citizens would have had to review copies of the document at his offices in Sacramento, Los Angeles, San Diego or Fresno. Paper copies will still be available at these locations.

The guide will remain online at https://www.ss.ca.gov until Aug. 14. Until then, citizens may examine and challenge information contained in the draft.
