* Watercraft--The Ventura County Boat Show will return to Channel Islands Harbor in Oxnard from Aug. 3-6. The fifth annual event will feature a wide array of boats, including sailboats, sportfishing vessels, luxury yachts and electric boats. There will also be marine-related displays, demonstrations, vendor booths and nautical clothing. * Family Arts--The Simi Valley Cultural Arts Center will hold its Youth Fest 2000 Parking Lot Faire on Aug. 5. Activities geared for toddlers to teenage participants include painting and drawing classes. There will also be refreshment booths, face-painting and clowns. * Museum--The Carnegie Art Museum in Oxnard will open its annual juried exhibition, “A Classic Competition,” Aug. 5. The exhibit is open to all visual arts, with first-, second- and third-place winners receiving cash awards. Ends Sept. 3.
