* Blues--Blues man Floyd Dixon performs Saturday night at Cozy’s in Sherman Oaks. The Texas-born singer-pianist moved to Los Angeles in the 1940s and found a blues mentor in fellow Texan Charles Brown. Dixon made his first recordings in a cool, jazzy style similar to Brown’s and later evolved into a harder R&B; sound. Dixon was commissioned to write a song, “Olympic Blues,” for the 1984 Olympic Games in Los Angeles. Show time: 9:30 p.m. The restaurant is at 14058 Ventura Blvd. $15. (818) 986-6000.

* Pop--Grammy winner Kim Carnes will sing Sunday at Warner Park in Woodland Hills. Carnes is an accomplished songwriter with tunes recorded by such artists as Frank Sinatra, Anne Murray, Barbra Streisand, Kenny Rogers and others. But she is probably best-known for “Bette Davis Eyes,” written by Donna Weiss and Jacki DeShannon. * Jazz--Keyboardist-composer David Garfield and Friends will play Latin- and funk-flavored jazz Sunday at Santa Clarita Park.
