Broadband Sports Names George Platisa to CFO Post

Broadband Sports said George Platisa has signed on as chief financial officer for the Los Angeles-based online sports company. Platisa previously served as CFO of Cypress-based PacifiCare of California. Current CFO Gregory Hebner will become vice president of the company’s AthletesDirect division.

Los Angeles-based online entertainment company MediaTrip.com has named James Fino as executive producer of animation. He previously was animation manager on the Fox animated series “King of the Hill.”

Jackpot.com, a Pasadena-based Internet marketing company for gaming-related sites, has named Keith Cohn, a former ToyTime.com executive, as president.

Jonathan Rosenthal has been named vice president, development of Fox Kids Network. He was formerly a writer for animated series including the Fox Family Channel’s “Angela Anaconda.”

Presbyterian Intercommunity Hospital in Whittier has appointed James West chief operating officer. West comes from Kaiser Permanente, where he served in various administrative jobs.

Scott McCarthy has been tapped as senior vice president of Walt Disney Co.’s ABC Broadcast Group, where he will handle new acquisitions as well as broadband and digital distribution issues. He left a Colorado Internet start-up to return to the company, where he was previously general manager of Radio Disney.

Matthew Lawrence has been named vice president, finance, of House of Moves Motion Capture Studios, which does image work for commercials and video games. He left PricewaterhouseCoopers, where he was a manager in the Los Angeles and Boston offices. House of Moves also promoted Rita Mines to vice president, operations. She was formerly the company’s director of operations.

Patrick K. Moore has been tapped as a partner in the health law department in the Los Angeles office of the firm Foley & Lardner. He was formerly an attorney at Riordan & McKinzie in Orange County.
