Duke Energy Inks Long Boeing Contract

Boeing Co. has awarded Duke Energy Corp. a 20-year, multimillion-dollar contract to run heating and cooling systems at Boeing’s Delta II rocket plant in Huntington Beach, the companies said Wednesday.
Duke said its DukeSolutions unit will spend the next 18 months overhauling energy systems at the Space and Communications facility.
“There’s a need to modernize the energy facility, which was built 35 years ago,” Boeing spokesman Walt Rice said. Duke also will advise Boeing on ways to reduce energy costs at the plant.
Delta II rockets are used to launch satellites into space.
