The reconstructed La Veta Avenue overcrossing on the Costa Mesa Freeway is scheduled to reopen to motorists next week. The new bridge adds one lane in each direction, for a total of two lanes each way, as well as new walkways in both directions and an improved drainage system.
Caltrans and the Orange County Transportation Authority will host a community open house from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Tuesday at the Orange Unified School District headquarters to discuss the three-year Costa Mesa Freeway North Improvement Project, which is one-third of the way complete. Information: (800) 724-0353.
