D-Day Museum Opens in New Orleans

The National D-Day Museum will open Tuesday in New Orleans on the 56th anniversary of the World War II Allied invasion of Normandy, France, after inaugural ceremonies that began this weekend. The museum was founded by historian Stephen E. Ambrose. It houses more than 2,000 oral histories from veterans compiled by Ambrose, plus thousands of artifacts, most of them from the former Museee de la Liberation in St. Lo^, France.

It will be open 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily except holidays at 945 Magazine St. in the Warehouse District downtown. Admission is $7 adults, $6 ages 65 and older, $5 ages 5 to 17. Information: tel. (877) 730-3329, Internet https://www.ddaymuseum.org.
