The Naval Construction Battalion Center in Port Hueneme will roll out the red carpet when it hosts its Seabee Summerfest on June 24 and 25.

The annual event is a chance for the Navy base to show off its personnel, equipment and special skills during a weekend-long festival featuring a full-scale military parade, ship tours of the Comstock, silent drill team demonstrations, a carnival, arts and crafts, a motorcycle and car show, musical entertainment and athletic contests.

The sports competitions are open to the public and include softball, 4-on-4 basketball and volleyball. A four-mile shore-to-ship run Saturday will offer trophies for the first- and second-place finishers in six categories. Registration for the run is $20, which includes a T-shirt.
