TiVo to Promote Broadcast, Cable Shows
TiVo has unveiled a new program for its subscribers. Known as TiVo Takes, the half-hour weekly program will promote broadcast and cable shows TiVo users can command their units to record in advance. The programs will be selected by TiVo employees entirely on their merits, and not as a result of fees paid by their producers, the company said. The program will also feature a weekly short from IFilm.com, an online provider of independent features that is a charter sponsor of TiVo. It will be broadcast on the Pax cable television network in the middle of the night as a form of infomercial and can be automatically recorded by TiVo machines.
