Auto-Graphics Unit Names President, CEO

William Ting has been named president and chief executive of Dataquad Inc., a subsidiary of Auto-Graphics Inc., a Pomona-based database software producer. Ting previously was CEO of BMDP Statistical Software Inc.

* Santa Monica-based Cooking.com, a cooking and food-oriented Web site, named Peter Hutt senior vice president and chief financial officer. He previously was treasurer of home improvement retailer HomeBase Inc.

* Arthur Culvahouse Jr. has been named chairman of O’Melveny & Myers, the Los Angeles-based law firm. He is the ninth chairman in the 115-year history of the firm, whose leaders have included former Secretary of State Warren Christopher. A corporate partner, Culvahouse has headed the firm’s Washington office since 1991. He succeeds Charles Bender.

* JewelersEdge.com, a Beverly Hills-based jeweler-to-jeweler e-business, has elected Walter Ulrich chief executive. Ulrich previously was CEO at ProcureNet.

* Santa Barbara-based hospital operator Tenet Healthcare Corp. announced several changes in its Western division, which is composed of three operating regions in Southern California and one in Northern California.

Gustavo Valdespino, vice president of operations for one of the Southern California regions, has been promoted to senior vice president of Southern California Region II. Jeffrey Sherman, director of finance for one of the three Southern California regions, has been promoted to vice president of finance for Southern California Region I.

* Tekelec, a Calabasas-based communications networking supplier, has appointed Paul Pucino chief financial officer. He is a former CFO of Scour.com.
