Next month, the county’s Social Services Agency will be using new technology to collect scanned fingerprints and photo images of all CalWORKS and food stamp recipients. This new tool will be used as another screening method to help ensure only eligible people receive the aid. Appointment letters will be mailed starting next month to clients to visit their offices so their fingerprints can be scanned.
