* Update--The specter of a winless season vanished last week as Los Angeles defeated the New England Sea Wolves, 50-46, for the fledging franchise’s first Arena Football League victory. In rallying the team from a 28-13 halftime deficit, Todd Marinovich probably established himself as the team’s starting quarterback the rest of the season. In his three games since joining the team, Shannon Culver (16 receptions, 189 yards, three touchdowns) has given Marinovich another dependable receiver alongside Chris Jackson, whose 48 receptions rank him in the league’s top 10. Arizona dropped into a Western Division first-place tie with San Jose after a 55-34 loss to the SaberCats on June 1. Talk about protection: Rattler quarterback Sherdrick Bonner has been sacked only once in passing 1,133 times. He had a streak of 984 consecutive passes without a sack ended by San Jose in Week 3.
