PLACENTIA
In the past two months, city building officials have discovered five unlicensed contractors attempting to do work in Placentia, the result of an Internet link that allows them to check permits with the state via computer.
“Many of these contractors may not even have known they had some permit issues,” said Chris Becker, director of public works. “But they were told to get their affairs in order.”
More than a month ago, the Building Division linked to the State Contractors License Board, enabling officials to check building licenses through the Internet with ease.
