THE SAFETY ZONE: ACTION LOG

The Times publishes a daily list of police incident reports provided by local law enforcement agencies. The Times prints items as soon as departments make them available. Because many departments release incident reports only weekly, not every community will be represented in each day’s Action Log. Authorities from the following cities released reports Tuesday:

BREA

* East Birch Street: A petty theft was reported in the 900 block at 8:32 p.m. Monday.

BUENA PARK

* Western Avenue: A burglary was reported in the 6400 block at 9:21 a.m. Monday.

* MacArthur Way: A report of shots fired in the 6000 block at 1:47 p.m. Monday.

* Valley View Street: A grand theft was reported in the 8800 block at 3:37 p.m. Monday.

COSTA MESA

* West 19th Street: Vandalism was reported in the 600 block at 6:05 p.m. Monday.

* Placentia Avenue: Annoying phone calls were reported in the 2000 block at 11:50 a.m. Monday.

DANA POINT

* Calle La Primavera: A loud party was reported in the 34000 block at 12:15 a.m. Saturday. Deputies contacted the host, who agreed to keep the noise level down.

* Del Obispo Street: Deputies broke up a dispute between a store clerk and a customer in the 33000 block at 7:40 p.m. Saturday.

* Pacific Coast Highway: Teens were reportedly throwing water balloons at Salt Creek Beach Park in the 33000 block at 4 p.m. Saturday. Lifeguards chased the teens away.

FULLERTON

* North Acacia Avenue: A burglary was reported in the 300 block at 12:55 a.m. Tuesday.

* North Mountain View Avenue: A grand theft was reported in the 600 block at 9:54 p.m. Monday.

GARDEN GROVE

* Hunt Avenue: A report of hazardous-material dumping in the 7300 block at 1:24 p.m. Friday. A truck driver spotted employees from a local business dumping chemicals into the street and washing them down a storm drain. The Fire Department’s hazardous materials team determined that acetone and carburetor cleaner were among the chemicals dumped. Police filed a report and the business will be billed for cleanup.

LAGUNA BEACH

* South Coast Highway: A carton of cigarettes worth $30 was reported stolen from a business in the 500 block at 5:07 p.m. Thursday.

* South Coast Highway: A 52-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of failure to appear in court on another charge in the 400 block at 10:40 p.m. Friday.

* Poplar Street: A 63-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of assaulting a neighbor with a rake in the 300 block at 2:13 p.m. Saturday.

LA HABRA

* East Hodson Avenue: A bicycle was reported stolen in the 1900 block at 5:19 p.m. Monday.

NEWPORT BEACH

* 33rd Street: A package with contents valued at $550 was stolen during an open house in the 100 block between 10:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. Thursday.

* Via Lido: A cellular phone valued at $400 was stolen in the 3000 block between 6 and 7 p.m. Friday.

SAN JUAN CAPISTRANO

* Calle Aragon: A 40-year-old woman reported her car was burglarized and her purse stolen in the 27000 block at 7:40 a.m. Saturday.

* Camino Capistrano: A 32-year-old man arrested on suspicion of drunken driving near Avenida La Paloma at 2:50 a.m. Saturday.

YORBA LINDA

* Via de la Escuela: Vandalism was reported in the 5200 block at 6:44 a.m. Monday.

Authorities from the following cities did not release incident reports: Anaheim, Cypress, Fountain Valley, Huntington Beach, Irvine, La Palma, Los Alamitos, Orange, Placentia, Santa Ana, Seal Beach, Tustin and Westminster.

The Orange County Sheriff’s Department makes incident reports available on the Web. Go to https://www.ocsd.org and click on “Sheriff’s Blotter.” Incident reports are updated every few minutes and cover the cities of Dana Point, Laguna Hills, Laguna Niguel, Laguna Woods, Lake Forest, Mission Viejo, Rancho Santa Margarita, San Clemente, San Juan Capistrano, Stanton and Villa Park, as well as the county’s unincorporated areas.
