The City Council moved forward Wednesday on a $260-million infrastructure redevelopment plan by closing the subject to further public hearings and calling for the proposal’s first reading at its next meeting June 28.

City planners determined that the amount of money needed for improving the city’s water and sewer systems, streets and flood control over the next 30 years would require a call for revitalization under California Redevelopment Law.

Residents were informed that they would not be paying additional taxes or fees for the plan.
