Southern California fuel prices inched down this month as prices nationwide headed to record highs. The Southern California average price dropped 3.6 cents to $1.626 for a gallon of self-serve regular, according to the Automobile Club of Southern California. The U.S. average hit $1.644. The club’s monthly Fuel Gauge Report, released Tuesday, is based on a survey of 2,800 gas stations.
