A Los Feliz home once owned by Walt Disney will be reviewed as a possible city historic cultural monument.

The English-style home on Lyric Avenue was once owned by Disney and his wife, Lilian. Built in 1928, the house incorporates several Tudor features including intersecting gable roofs, multi-paned windows, a balcony and arched doorways.

The city’s Cultural Heritage Commission voted unanimously Wednesday to begin review of the property for consideration as a monument.

Walt Disney is said to have worked on his animation projects in the garage, a factor that will be reviewed and confirmed by the commission.

The property’s current owner, who works in feature animation at DreamWorks, has undertaken restoration and design work on the exterior and interior.
