RANCHO SANTA MARGARITA
Ending their own tenure as the city’s planning agency, each of the five City Council members last week appointed someone to serve on the Planning Commission.
The commissioners will serve until the end of the term of the council member who appointed them.
Mayor Debra H. Lewis appointed Jay Jamshasb; Councilman Gary Thompson chose Jack Leonard; Councilman Neil C. Blais picked Tony Beall; Councilman James M. Thor appointed Beverly Curtin; and Councilwoman Carol Gamble chose Mark McQuaid.
Thor said the council is looking forward to sharing some of its responsibility with the new commissioners.
“It will be nice to pass the baton on to some other residents,” he said.
