City officials and school district representatives met Wednesday in a study session to discuss the issue of building a school at McFadden Park.

District officials have been working for two years to get the city to agree to sell them the land for a school site. Council members had expressed concern that the district’s plans would do away with the only open space in the area. They also questioned the possible lack of diversity at a school placed in the middle of a mostly Latino neighborhood.
