Victims of Helicopter Crash Identified
A Los Angeles area production company on Saturday released the names of three of the four people killed in a helicopter that crashed while making a television commercial in British Columbia.
HSI Productions identified the victims as director Paul Giraud, 47, of Malibu; first assistant cameraman Mikael Glattes, 37, of Los Angeles, and grip Ivan Weber, 28, of Paris, France.
A spokesman for the Venice-based company said the family of the fourth victim, the Yukon-based helicopter pilot, asked that his name not be released.
The four men were killed Thursday when the helicopter, being used to shoot an automobile commercial, crashed into a glacier and burned. It was believed a rotor blade clipped the ice as the chopper was being positioned to film a car on the glacier.
