DANA POINT
The South Coast Water District has approved a $15.7-million budget for 2000-01 that includes $3.6 million for capital improvements.
Although rates will not increase in the next fiscal year, the board allocated $150,000 for a study to assess water and sewer rates for 2001-02.
The board approved the budget at its meeting last week. Much of the $3.6 million in improvements will be used for sewer and water line repair and replacement.
The board also plans to hire accountants and engineers to assess rates and report on a uniform rate structure, said district General Manager Michael Dunbar.
