Police in Hollywood arrested a Huntington Beach resident Monday on suspicion of killing a 27-year-old man and discarding the body in a garbage bin.
Officers went to the 1700 block of North Orange Drive shortly before 6 a.m. after someone reported seeing two men carrying what appeared to be a body wrapped in a blanket from the building, Los Angeles Police Homicide Det. Lloyd Parry said.
The body was found in a dumpster. Police later stopped a red pickup truck in Arcadia with a license number supplied by witnesses, Perry said.
Authorities arrested Timothy B. Sheahan, 22, of Huntington Beach and Christopher R. Schumacher, 26, of Hollywood, Los Angeles Police Officer Jason Lee said. Each was held on $1-million bail.
The name of the victim was not released pending notification of relatives.
Anyone with information about the case should call homicide detectives at the Hollywood station, (213) 485-4310.
