Judge Won’t Lift Limits on Mai
A federal judge on Monday refused to lift communication restrictions on convicted cop killer “Henry” Thanh Mai, who was sentenced to death last week.
Mai cannot send or receive letters, or place phone calls to anyone other than his attorney or immediate family members. The restrictions against Mai are among the most stringent in the country.
Mai, a gang member, was convicted of killing a CHP rookie during a routine traffic stop in Fullerton in 1993.
