Death Penalty
* The June 24 article about the sentencing of Hung Thanh Mai has made me angry. The article says it may take five to 10 years to see “if the sentence is upheld.” What’s not to uphold? This unrepentant, unremorseful scum murdered a police officer. I’m all in favor of making sure innocent or wrongly convicted people are not executed. But that’s not the case here. He was sentenced on Friday. He should have been executed on Saturday.
