With an eye toward the upcoming Democratic Convention in L.A. and presidential politics in general, Theatre 40 will present a concert reading of Gore Vidal’s sly satire “The Best Man” on Saturday at 4:30 p.m. at the Doheny Mansion pool house at the foot of Coldwater Canyon and Doheny Road in Beverly Hills.

Presented in conjunction with the Beverly Hills Cultural Affairs Department’s Summer Arts Festival as part of several events throughout the city, Vidal’s sardonic look at American politics will be directed by Beverly Olevin and performed by a cast of veteran theater professionals.

There is no charge for tickets, but donations will be accepted.
