Food From the ‘Hood, a brand of creamy salad dressing made by a group of Crenshaw High School students, will make its international debut this weekend at Expo 2000, the world’s fair in Hanover, Germany.

Five Crenshaw students departed Thursday for a week at the fair’s More Than Food expo, which begins Saturday. Every other week, five other students will go until all 25 students in the company get to visit the fair, which ends Oct. 31.

Since it began in 1992, shortly after the Los Angeles riots, Food From the ‘Hood has been a scholarship moneymaker at Crenshaw High School. Sales of the dressing have raised more than $140,000 for scholarships, sending 70 students to college.
