Isaacson, Pack Lead Tustin Past Garden Grove in Golf

Tustin’s Matt Isaacson and Chris Pack both shot 37 to help the Tillers defeat Garden Grove, 194-226, in nonleague golf Tuesday.

Isaacson and Pack were co-medalists as each registered seven pars and two bogeys at par-35 Willowick.

In other nonleague golf:

El Dorado 420, Canyon 423--At Anaheim Hills and Western Hills, El Dorado’s Chris Ironhead and Danny Min each shot 80.

El Modena 428, Katella 462--El Modena’s Ryan Bohning and Rory Henry and Katella’s Chris Dunkelberger all shot 83 in a match played at Green River and Anaheim Hills.

Ocean View 212, Western 216--Ocean View’s Ryan McLaughlan and Scott Younkerman both shot four-over 39 for Ocean View at Dad Miller.

In nonleague boys’ tennis:

Canyon 14, El Toro 4--Freshman Brad Vogner, playing in his first high school match, teamed with Earl Dossantos to sweep at No. 3 doubles, 6-4, 6-1, 6-0.

El Modena 11, Santiago 7--Senior Jason Topor and sophomores Brent Omeste and Joe Eisner all swept their singles matches for El Modena (1-0).

Fullerton 12, Kennedy 6--Fullerton’s doubles teams of Brian Johnson-Justin White and Paul Burke-Jason Voigt swept all three matches in the opener for both schools.

Saddleback 12, Los Amigos 6--No. 1 singles player Rafael Nieto swept 6-0, 6-2, 6-1 and the No. 1 doubles team of James Vuong and Thach Dinh swept 6-1, 6-3, 6-1, for host Saddleback (1-0).

San Clemente 12, Fountain Valley 6--Freshman Alex Kerhulas, playing at No. 3 singles, swept, 6-1, 6-2, 6-0 for host San Clemente (1-0).

Woodbridge 9, Sunny Hills 9 (82-71 in games)--Sunny Hills’ Joseph Kao won all of his singles matches for the Lancers.

In nonleague boys’ swimming:

Santa Margarita 117, Trabuco Hills 50--Jon Voith posted a time of 1 minute 53.44 seconds to win the 200 freestyle for Santa Margarita.

In nonleague girls’ swimming:

Santa Margarita 116, Trabuco Hills 44--Senior Kristen Buhagiar was a double winner, taking the 50 freestyle in 29.97 seconds and the 100 butterfly (1:05.70.). Buhagiar was also on the winning 200 medley and 400 freestyle relays.

In nonleague boys’ volleyball:

Dana Hills 3, Woodbridge 0--Bryan Troxcil had 14 kills and Paul Williams had 11 kills for visiting Dana Hills (1-0), which won 15-6, 15-12, 16-14.

Esperanza 3, University 1--Drew Gullixson had 25 kills and Brandon Dowhan had 21 kills for visiting Esperanza (1-0), which won 15-8, 9-15, 15-13, 15-11.

Tustin 3, Calvary Chapel 0--William Diep had 15 kills and eight blocks for Tustin (1-0), which won, 15-6, 15-6, 15-3.
