Couples, Dye Team Up on Simi Valley Courses

Share

Fred Couples joins with famed course architect Pete Dye in designing two championship courses which are being developed at Lost Canyons Golf Club in Simi Valley.

Couples is relatively new to the course-design field but already has been involved with some outstanding courses, including the Plantation Golf Club in Indo, the Palms Golf Club in La Quinta, Talega Golf Club in San Clemente, San Juan Oaks Golf Club in Hollister and Crosby National Golf Club in Rancho Santa Fe.

“I am fortunate to have the opportunity to work on a golf course with Pete Dye, an architect who has designed some of the most spectacular courses in the world,” said Couples, the 1982 Masters champion who lives in Santa Barbara.

Dye and Couples will weave the course through the canyons and creek beds in the foothills of the Santa Susana Mountains.

One course is scheduled to open in October and the other in December.

Lost Canyons is being developed by Landmark National, which includes among its credits PGA West in La Quinta, Mission Hills Resort in Rancho Mirage, Carmel Valley Ranch near Monterey and Kiawah Island Resort in South Carolina.
