Sunset Strip Area Is Now Alien Territory

Jason Behr, who stars as an extraterrestrial attending high school on Earth in the WB sci-fi series “Roswell,” has leased a Sunset Strip-area home for a year at about $3,200 a month.

Behr, 26, plays Max Evans in “Roswell,” which premiered in the fall. He played a young gay man in the independent film “Rites of Passage” (1999), co-starring Dean Stockwell, and made his feature film debut in “Pleasantville” (1998).

Earlier, Behr had a recurring role in the WB’s teen series “Dawson’s Creek” (1998-99), was a cast regular in ABC’s short-lived drama “Push” (1998) and guest starred on “JAG,” “Buffy the Vampire Slayer” and “7th Heaven.”

Behr leased a Spanish-style home behind gates with two bedrooms and a fireplace in 800 square feet.

The house, which also has city views, is one of about half a dozen in an enclave built in the ‘40s and refurbished during the last few years. A couple of other actors also lease in the enclave.

Actress Pamela Anderson Lee has leased a home in Malibu Colony for a year at $16,000 a month.

The former “Baywatch” star, who stars in the syndicated action series “V.I.P.,” and Motley Crue drummer Tommy Lee reconciled early last year. The couple married five years ago. She filed for divorce in 1998. They had

announced plans to remarry in February.

“That didn’t work out,” a source said.

She has leased a four-bedroom, 3,500-square-foot house on the water. The house is one of the original Colony homes built in the ‘20s. It has a fireplace and a grassy yard.

The house was one of two in the L.A. area that were being leased by the late rapper Tupac Shakur when he was gunned down in Las Vegas in 1996.

The actress, 32, and the drummer, 31, also have a house in the Malibu hills that they listed in April at $1.55 million, then took off of the market.

Australian actor Guy Pearce, who appeared in the Australian movie “The Adventures of Priscilla, Queen of the Desert” (1994) before coming to Los Angeles to play a policeman in “L.A. Confidential” (1997), has become a first-time home buyer.

After coming to Hollywood, he liked the area so much that he decided to stay. Pearce, 32, who also appeared in the movie “Ravenous” (1999), bought a West Hollywood townhouse for $360,000.

Built about 10 years ago, the Spanish-modern townhouse has two bedrooms in about 1,200 square feet. The unit also has balconies and a roof deck.
