Coca-Cola Co. plans to tie top managers’ pay--including Chief Executive Doug Daft’s--to new diversity goals being developed at the soft-drink giant. Daft also said he is creating a new office of diversity, to be led by a vice president who will report directly to him. Details, including how the diversity goals would be set and achieved and how they would link to managers’ pay, are being developed, company spokesman Ben Deutsch said. Deutsch said the Atlanta-based company’s new diversity plan is unrelated to a pending racial discrimination lawsuit. Eight current and former black Coke employees filed the suit last year, saying black employees are discriminated against in pay, promotions and performance evaluations.
