Krause’s Furniture Inc.

The Brea furniture manufacturer and retailer posted a net loss of $4.5 million, or 20 cents a share, for the eight-week fourth quarter ended Dec. 26. The company recently changed its fiscal year, resulting in the shortened quarter. A year ago, the company posted a net loss of $178,000, or 1 cent a share. Sales were $21.5 million, compared with $22.3 million a year earlier. For the year, the company lost $9.4 million, or 43 cents a share, compared with a net loss of $4.9 million, or 23 cents a share, the previous year. Sales gained 12% to $130.3 million.
