Petopia.com Inc., another in a series of online pet-products retailers seeking to cash in on the Internet craze on Wall Street, filed to raise as much as $100 million in an initial public offering. Petopia.com, which has an exclusive relationship with the brick-and-mortar retailer Petco Animal Supplies Inc., did not reveal how many shares it plans to sell or the per-share price.

* Superconductor Technologies Inc. of Santa Barbara said it will supply Alltel Corp., an Arkansas-based local phone service, with filters that can boost the range of cellular phone networks. The company’s shares surged nearly 40%. Terms weren’t disclosed. Superconductor Technologies’ shares soared $20.94 to close at $75.75 on Nasdaq. Alltel fell $1.13 to close at $66.94 on the NYSE.

* Oracle Corp., the No. 1 database software maker, is expected to report today third-quarter earnings climbed 30% on higher sales of software for corporate computer networks.

* BCE Inc., Canada’s No. 1 telecom company, agreed to buy CTV Inc. for $1.59 billion, after sweetening an earlier bid.

* Solectron Corp., the biggest contract manufacturer for the computer and electronics industries, said its fiscal second-quarter profit rose 49%, matching estimates, as demand for cell phones in Asia and Europe helped offset component shortages in North America. Revenue rose 32% to $2.86 billion.
