Recycling Worker Found Dead in Debris
An employee of an Anaheim recycling center was found dead Monday night after firefighters sifted through an enormous pile of debris, authorities said.
Firefighters suspect that the employee, who was not identified, had an accident and was buried in the huge pile of tree branches and lawn clippings, an Anaheim Fire Department dispatcher said.
A manager at the recycling center, in the 1100 block of North Blue Gum Lane, called the fire department at 8:37 p.m.
“He was last seen near the pile of debris,” the dispatcher said. “They’re looking at it as an accident.”
About 60 firefighters from Anaheim and several other Orange County departments assisted in the search.
